45 minute reading: $50
call 773-794-8715 between 12 - 6 PM to schedule an appointment

Enjoy a delightfully mystical and healing experience as Tarot and Crystal Master Steven Blaine Adams combines Tarot reading with crystal healing. Gain clarity about work, relationships, or other aspects of your life. Feel your energy shift as you hold many different types of crystals while Steve provides insight into your situation by reading your cards.

Steven Blaine Adams combines the Aquarian Tarot with the healing properties of gemstones. By picking up energy from you in the moment, he can intuitively sense what kind of healing you need most. He says, “I don’t believe Tarot is about telling your future—it’s about reading your energy in the present and getting you onto the path that’s right for you. Once you’re on your path, all good things begin to come to you.” The son of an astrologer and reader, Steve has been doing readings professionally for over 30 years. He is also an artist and designer who works with natural materials like stones and crystals to create artwork and jewelry with symbolic and spiritual resonance. He is LFA’s Associate Artistic Director and LFAC's store designer. Steve attributes meditation, art, ritual and spiritual connection as instrumental catalysts in his path towards healing.

Painting The Wheel of the Year: Samhain with Colleen Koziara

Sunday, October 20, 2:00 PM » 5:00 PM

The Wheel of the Year. Time, not linear but circular. Round and round we go, and have always gone. Since the beginning of time, humans, of every faith and culture, have found time best tracked in circles. Humans have created stone circles aligned with the seasons for at least 200,000 years. Everything in life falls comfortably somewhere upon the spokes of the wheel of time. The times of day, the seasons, the astrological calendar, the trees and symbols of the Ogham, Alchemy, Festivals, ages of human life, the colors, musical notes, emotions, tides. All of time, all of creation.

This is what we will explore in this year-long series of painting classes held once a month. Eight of our sessions will focus on the seasonal festival: Imbolc, Ostara, Beltaine, Summer Solstice, Lughnassadh, Mabon, Samhain and Yule. For these sessions, we will create acrylic on canvas paintings.

Four of our sessions will focus on the Wheel of the Year Template as a whole. In these sessions, each participant will use ink pens, markers, paint, and collage on acetate sheets to create a multi-layered depiction of a personalized Wheel meaningful to their own life path.

Our theme for October 20: Samhain  - October 31 - November 1 (sunset to sunset) All Souls Night, Feast of the Dead, Festival of Remembrance, Feast of Apples, New Year...Samhain is one of the major festivals of the Wheel of the Year, for many Pagans the most important festival of all. It is the third and final harvest festival of nuts and berries and a fire festival. All the harvest is in, all is complete, it is the end of the cycle of birth and growth, it is the point of death. The seeds of the harvest have fallen deep into the dark earth, they are unseen, dormant, and thus apparently lifeless. The God, as Sun King is sacrificed back to the land with the seed until the Winter Solstice, and the Goddess, now as Crone, mourns Him until His rebirth at Yule. He travels the Underworld learning its wisdom. This is the time of the descent into darkness, of preconception, out of which new life, new ideas, will eventually emerge.

Traditionally the veils between the worlds are at their thinnest now. Boundaries dissolve and all is laid bare. It is time to honor and offer hospitality to, our ancestors.

At Samhain the dark half of the year commences. It is a truly magical time. Death is always followed by rebirth and while this is the end of the old year, it is the beginning of the new year. For the Celts the day did not begin at dawn, it began at sunset, it began with darkness. Light is always born out of darkness, they are inseparable, interdependent, and necessary. Darkness is fertile with 'all potential'. With the beginning of this dark phase comes the opportunity to rest and reflect on the past and to dream of new beginnings. The seed now hidden in the earth will germinate in its season. Look for the seeds in yourself! Honoring your ancestors is a very special thing to do at this time and can be done in many simple ways. Place photographs of them on your altar, offer them your hospitality, welcome their presence into your home. Consider laying an extra place for them to join you at the table - cook and eat their favorite dishes, talk about them - re-member them, bring them closer.

For more fabulous information on these holidays, their symbolism and origins, old traditions and new, as well as simple and very real ways to bring acknowledgement of the turning of the wheel into your daily life, as well as, wonderful shopping opportunities!! I highly recommend the website/organization

All materials will be supplied and no previous experience is necessary. The class will begin with a smudging and guided meditation, and continue on with the painting session. Each session will include a central space arrangement of items that speak to the season and the spoke upon the wheel that is our focus for that session.

Additionally, each student will be provided with a computer file, and a link to a YouTube Playlist that features a wide variety of supportive documentation on The Wheel as it appears in its many varied forms and focuses: images of Circles, Mandalas and Wheels of the Year from a wide variety of cultures and locations as well as stories and legends from around the world to be used as reference material for their study.

Preregistration is required due to material and supply orders that must be placed.

Beginning Astrology Level 2 with Lin Ewing

Monday, October 21, 7:30 PM » 9:30 PM

6 Mondays
October 21 - November 25, 2019

BEGINNING ASTROLOGY LEVEL 2 continues and builds on the work of Level 1 by providing a deeper understanding of the elements and basics of astrology. The class considers:

Composite Charts
Solar Arcs
Solar Returns

TRANSITS are how planets move through our charts throughout our life. We will particularly study the outer planets, investigating the lessons, events and energies they bring us as they travel through the houses of our horoscopes and aspect our natal planets

PROGRESSIONS are the changes in configuration of the chart throughout our lives. We will learn:

How they affect us via the internal changes experienced as we grow and age
Forecasting events through progressions
Looking at the changes in our individual charts using the charts of class members

SYNASTRY is about how people interact with one another based on their astrological configurations. It compares the horoscopes of 2 (or more) people in order to understand how they relate to each other and how they interact for whatever purpose they are coming together. This could be for a:

Business venture
Partnership of any sort

COMPOSITE CHARTS look at the separate "entity" that forms when 2 people blend into one in a relationship

SOLAR ARCS help us

Forecast events
Rectify the chart for the accuracy of the birth time

SOLAR RETURNS give us a snapshot of ourselves for a year, from birthday to birthday, showing the issues, events, changes and benefits that we will face in that one year period

The student completing Beginning Astrology Level 2 will have the foundation and understanding to be able to pursue further astrological knowledge via reading, advanced class workshops and discussion groups.

$180/$150 early registration by October 14, 2019

Mask Making & Shapeshifting Ceremony with Steven Blaine Adams & Joan Forest Mage

Tuesday, October 22, 7:00 PM » 10:00 PM

The changing colors and falling of leaves of Autumn remind us of shedding old identities. Halloween festivities invite us to select costumes and masks that free us to act out parts of ourselves normally hidden. But perhaps the most intriguing question is what lies beneath those masks? As the trees are stripped bare when leaves fall, the process of wearing and removing masks raises its own questions: Who are you beneath the “masks” you wear? The mask of your name? The mask of your occupation? The mask of your role? What is left when those masks are removed?

In this workshop we will explore these “masks of the self” and understand the power inherent in masks by crafting a mask of our choosing through intention and shamanic journeying. Various styles and shapes of undecorated masks will be available to add paints, feathers, images and other items provided to decorate these blank masks and enhance their symbolism. In an atmosphere of exploration and play this ritual mask making encourages participants to connect with their inner wisdom, spirit guides, and Source to fashion a mask that teaches, heals and empowers. Upon completing the mask making, we will engage in a shapeshifting ceremony in order to embody this new identity. The experience of putting on a mask of our own choosing will give participants a taste (through practice in a safe space) of how to ultimately embody the identity they desire to live in their lives.
