I know without a doubt my main job on this planet is to sprinkle love everywhere I go. I have always known this to be my Super-Power, but when I accepted the name Honeybee, the title Love Pollinator felt right. I can often be found buzzing around, spreading the love in silly, simple ways like passing out stickers du jour or giving a high five to a stranger.

My favorite super-delicious way to spread love is sitting down, picking out the perfect pen and paper, and writing words of love to those I cherish in my heart. The letter, in my opinion, is a timeless gift that has fallen out of fashion with all the tweets, updates, texts, and e-mail (although this even feels outdated these days). Let's bring back letter writing! It's a sweet way to say I love you, even if you don't use those words. How long has it been since you received a letter in the mail? Do you remember how it felt? A handwritten letter takes time and tells that person, in a Hallmark way, that you care enough to send the very best.

Today I sat down, put pen to paper, and wrote words of love to a dear friend that I hadn't connected with in a while. She has been with me through everything: broken hearts, moves across the country, fears, worries, good times, bad times, scary times, and hilarious times. This girl has been an incredible friend, loving support, and wise confidant. She has been there with me through thick and thin. I love her more than anyone I know; she is my best friend. Doesn't she deserve a love letter?

Of course. Duh. I know that she will be surprised and excited to open up the mailbox and see something other than a pile of bills and junk mail. I know because she is ME! I am HER! I wrote a love letter today to ME! And I popped it in the mail. I enjoyed writing the letter so much, and I know when I receive it in a couple of days, I will be just as excited! You see, I chose the most beautiful blank card and pasted a lovely picture of LOVE on the front. I took time to make this the most beautiful letter because it is going to such a special friend.

Dearest Honeybee,

I love you so much. I am so proud of you for all that you have done and for all the growth that you have made in the last couple of years. It hasn't always been easy, but you have proven time and time again that we were worth it. I am so grateful for your open heart, silly ways, and magical disposition in life. You make everything so fun, even when it isn't. You make me smile at the core. You are such a beautiful, loving, wonderful woman! Thank you for taking time to listen to me and working with me to create an amazing life. With every challenge, you have brought forward courage with grace, and it is hasn't gone unnoticed. You are a sweet, tender, powerful woman...who spreads love to those you have known for years and to those you have just met. I love you for being you! I love you for being me! Here's to you and to me...best friends. I love you Honeybee. You rock!!!

Yes, that is the most beautiful letter, and I will read it over and over again...to remind me how important I am to me, how much I love me, and how grateful I am to be me!
