In a previous blog posting I mentioned that this is a time of Capricorn (duty, also career) modifying Pluto (transformation, also power).  This energy of career transformation is also repeated in the sky since this is also a time of Saturn (duty, also structure) square (energy needs to be combined with) Pluto (transformation, also power).  In other words to great forces, career (business), and power are “fighting it out” in the skies above us.  And we are all caught in the “fallout” of this celestial battle.

Saturn is the energy of responsibility, stability, structure, career.  It represents the “ladder” of business, with each person moving to a new step based on their experience, knowledge, and authority at the place where they work.  Saturn is the energy of tradition and “that’s always the way we’ve done it here.”  Saturn wants structure and to do things “by the book.”

Pluto is energy of transformation, of death and rebirth, power, and control over things.  It requires a “death and rebirth” experience where “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”  Pluto energy defines the expression “from pressure come diamonds” and Pluto energy really “lays on the pressure.”

So the energy of business and the energy of power are clashing in the sky, with the result that businesses are being forced to transform or “die.”  People caught up in those businesses are also forced to go through the transformation process, forced into new situations where they are required to reinvent themselves and where the skills they counted on for so long are now not needed.  And they are forced to transform their whole sense of what “business” really is.

This business power clash started up around September and is currently building energy until it peaks next January.  This indicates the feeling people have that the recession is not really “over” with all the unrest going on in the business world.  This clash will finally conclude around November of next year, about the time that most businesses are planning for things to get “back to normal.”
