Please join Cathy McManamon as she performs a live, acoustic version of her new CD “Edges” in its entirety. The songs range from environmental and social commentary to the wonder of life’s adventures to a humorous take on performance issues. After “Edges” is presented, the audience will be in charge of the show – Cathy will take requests for her original songs or her covers of other music and play them on the spot. Pass the percussion toys and the song list, and sing along if you like!
Cathy McManamon has been playing the guitar since she was nine, and dabbling with other instruments since she was six. She grew up working as a liturgical musician and later spent ten years as an elementary school music teacher. She loves singing for weddings as much as performing in a filk circle at a sci-fi convention or drumming for a community ritual, and most recently appeared at WindyCon in November and at CapriCon this month. Cathy has taught music workshops on a variety of themes ranging from Australian folk music to Drum Circle Etiquette in places like scout leader camps and MuseCon. She believes that music is a powerful channel for spiritual creativity, storytelling, and sharing messages. “Edges” and limited copies of her two previous CDs, “Crooked Path” and “Amber Road”, will be available at the concert.
