The Earth formed from stone more than 4 billion years ago, and stone still speaks to us through the ancient minerals contained in every bone and cell in our bodies. We are all echoes of Earth herself. Ancient Voices of Stone features visually stunning, deeply moving photographs, paintings and installations of stone that may change the way you see the world and your place in it. Spectacular images of some the oldest rock and mineral formations in the world are on display, taken by L. Sue Baugh, who traveled to remote regions in Greenland, Australia, Canada and the United States to commune with stones that are up to 4 billion years old. These stones from Earth’s Deep Time speak with a wisdom far surpassing human knowledge. Ms. Baugh's book with the photographs of her journey, Echoes of Earth: Finding ourselves in the origins of the planet, represents a true labor of love. Ancient Voices of Stone also features the crystal and stone sculptural art of Steven Blaine Adams, stone carvings by John Henderson and oil painting by Joann Rea.
